Obama, Clintons, Pelosi to talk at late congressman Cummings' memorial service


(Reuters) - Former U.S. presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, alongside previous presidential up-and-comer and Senator Hillary Clinton, are among a who's-who rundown of the Democratic Party scheduled to talk on Friday at the late Congressman Elijah Cummings' memorial service.

Delegate Cummings' office discharged a rundown late Wednesday of the 10 pallbearers and 15 speakers scheduled for the burial service Friday at the New Psalmist Baptist Church in Cummings' main residence of Baltimore. 

Cummings, 68, a social liberties champion and 22-year veteran of the House of Representatives, passed on last Thursday of intricacies from longstanding medical issues. 

Obama's representative Katie Hill said in an announcement late Wednesday that the previous U.S. president was mentioned to talk by Cummings' widow Maya Rockeymoore-Cummings. 

"He will convey comments about the amazing life and inheritance of one of this current nation's best local officials," Hill said in the announcement. 

Obama is considered as a part of Cummings' companions and Cummings was an early supporter of Obama's 2008 presidential battle. 

Additionally scheduled to talk is previous National Association for the Advancement of Colored People President Kweisi Mfume, whose Maryland seat Cummings took over when Mfume turned into the pioneer of the social equality gathering. The seat, Maryland's seventh congressional locale, was held by Cummings for over two decades. 

Alongside Hillary Clinton, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Cumming's widow, sibling and little girls will likewise talk.
